There are four reasons why eating fat makes us fat:
1. Fat has more than twice the number of calories (for the same weight of food) than carbohydrates or protein.
2. Fat promotes overeating by making the falvor and texture of food more appealing.
3. Fat is less filing than protein and carbs, so we eat more of it before we feel full.
4. When we eat too many calories, carbs get burned first (before fat and protein) and fat get store
These are good reasons to go on a low-fat diet when trying to lose weight. The reason isn’t because you are restricting fat , it is because restricting fat intake you are decreasing your total intake of calories.
