God really is all knowing, all powerful and all present, but he has restraint. God is sovereign in the sense that He is paramount and supreme. There is no one higher in authority or power, but that doe snot mean He exercises His power by controlling everything in our lives. God had restraint because he allowed us freewill. We are given this freewill and in his image that restraint we can use as well.
God has given us freedom to choose. He has plans for us. He seeks to reveal that plan to us and urge us in that direction, but we choose. He doesn’t make our choice for us.
If we believe God controls everything renders us powerless and passive. I believe that Jesus came to give us abundant life. The devil came to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10)
Everything comes from God and exits by his power and is intended for his glory. He created the world for his glory. We have to shift our frame of thinking from being me-centered to being God-centered. This concept took me many years. I would look to worship and church as something I got something out of . It was for my benefit. Our daily challenges and decisions become opportunities to live God’s glory.
Though you may face all kinds of evil and pain in your life, you do not have to live in fear. In the fullness of time God will overthrow Satan, sin and death. The world is in God’s control, he works every day for his glory.
