Guilt Trip

If you’re dealing with unhealthy guilt over some sin you committed in the past, do what Jud told one of his guilt-ridden church members to do:

Read Psalm 51, and confess your sin to God one more time.
Confess to someone close to you. And then don’t ever confess that sin again.

If you’re tempted later to feel condemned for that sin, claim Bible promises such as the following:

Psalm 103:12

Romans 8:1

1 John 1:9

Remember there is a different between healthy and unhealthy guilt. Healthy guilt motivates us to mend relationships, make things right and move toward health. Unhealthy guilt is debilitating.
