The Jesus Question

What is the question?   Jesus asked it – Who do they say I am, and who do you say I am.

Some people will say he is a great prophet, great teacher, but some will not call him Lord.  So who do you say Jesus is?   It isn’t a question you answer with someone else’s answer.  It is your answer.  Who do you say that Jesus is?  We have to proclaim for ourselves who we think Jesus is.

Think of the scene with all the disciples gathered around Jesus, and he ask them who do you say I am?  They must have thought, what is this a trick question or how do I answer this?  Peter takes the lead – “You are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God.”

So many people and cultures have tried to diminish who Jesus is?  The records are clear this man existed, the Jewish historians can account for him being here and Christian records are clear he existed.  They are only two choices:  Follow him or reject him.  He changed the world.  Jesus wants us to be is friend.  He is waiting for you to surrender and ask the Jesus question for yourself.  Who do you say he is?

Point to Ponder:  Right now you have an incredible opportunity to get to know Jesus better.

Verse to Live:  John 18:38  – “I came into the world to testify to the truth.  Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”

Questions to comment or consider:  Have you ever really explored the Jesus question?

Prayer:  Jesus teach me to never stop seeking you.  Help me to seek you in every relationship, place and situation.
