Deny Yourself

It is difficult to live a Christian life unless we are willing and able to practice self-denial. I think it took some time for me to realize that I needed to think less whats in this for me and more like a servant. The author explains it like a score – if you change the score and you change everything: You become more patient with your spouse, children, grandchildren, your work mates, you get better at saying no to snacks you don’t need, finances improve and the benefits go on and on. I can context to this, it is too.

Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up their cross daily and follow me.” Luke 9:23

Point to Ponder: Learning to deny yourself will pay huge dividends in your life

Verse to Live: Galatians 5:22-23

Question to consider: In what area of your life do you exhibit the most self-control? In what area of your life do you exhibit the least self-control (FOOD)
Yes for me it is food.

Prayer: Jesus, Give me the grace and the strength to say no to myself.
