The Mystery of Christmas

The wonderment in a small child’s eyes,
The ageless awe in the Christmas skies,
THe nameless joy that fills the air,
The throngs that kneel in praise and prayer —
These are the things that make us know
That men may come and men may go.
but none will ever find a way
To banish Christ from Christmas Day,
For with each child there’s born again,
A mystery that baffles men.
Shrouded in Mystery
Psalm 145:5
On the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.
We’ll never really understand how the mighty Creator came to be a tiny baby in Bethlehem stable is now and will always be a mystery to mankind. The Bible gives us broad brush strokes of how this miracle occurred – the Holy Spirit overshadowed a virgin girl named Mary – but now this happened is too great for our brains to comprehend.
The birth of Christ is more than just the stellar moment in human history, it is the most compelling reason possible to stand in awe of our great heavenly Father, to kneel before Him in praise and adoration, to let the joy inherent in His presence dwell within us.
Let your heart be filled with wonder, this Christmastime.
